And what a day that was. 8:00 at the church to get
the sound set up for church. That was over at 12:30 or so, and then I
drove to Red Deer - about an hour's drive away. Here I picked up the audio
gear needed for the Choir Festival tonight at the elementary school. I
rented speakers, stands, and an amp. Everything else we had ($125). Got
back, took a 20min nap, and then went to the church to collect all the
other equipment.
Started setting things up at 4:30, and that gave 2.5 hours to get things
ready. It took most of that time, but I did have plenty of time to at
lest breath easy before the performance.
It went really well. I was a little nervous the day before, but was able
to rest in the Lord with it and I really had fun running the sound that
evening. Sure am thankful for how it all turned out.

Built an animation to signify that the scripture
being read is a fulfillment to prophecy. I turned down a chance to go
shoot people (and get shot) with paint balls.
Need to set up for worship at 6:00pm - Laurie Newsham is leading it this
week. Perhaps I'll get a picture, we'll see.
We had a real thick fog this morning (-6°C) and it left a decent frost
at around noon. I did take a shot of that-

Got some sound equipment lined up to rent for Sunday's
performance. I think it'll be a good way to go. Will have to pick the
stuff up on Sunday afternoon. That will be a full day - that's for sure!
Was able to get quite a few sections finished today - about 5 I think
it was. Most of these were corrections that just had to be proofed before
signing them off. So now the score is: 16 out of 51 completed. A
link to the PDF document showing the progress.

An American Thanksgiving - at the Cross' house. (Canadian
Thanksgiving is back somewhere in October.)
What a treat that was!
I was able to get another section ready for John to take a look at - it
was 12-5, except for one animation I'm working on - should be done Friday.

Dentist appointment at 11:00am. Filling? Crown? Root
Canal? Don't know till I get there!
Just got back - it was only a filling ($180) deep to the nerve, though
we didn't root it out. I brought some photos in - because they are looking
at re-modeling, and are in desperate need for some good pictures up in
the waiting room. He froze me, then took of to look at the a CD with about
70 images on it and liked some of what he saw. He's interested in some
photos, so I didn't pay anything with the understanding we'll talk about
possibly a trade on the next visit (Dec 4). Sure would be grand to pay
for fillings with photos!
Here's some photos I took on the way to / from the dentist: (6 photos
posted of 27 taken!)

Saw 3 moose just outside of town on the way to work
this morning!
Got a couple more video sections completed today - the corrections from
Friday being completed. Lots of rendering today - working the 10 commandments
for Chapters 11-4 and 12-1.

Woke up late this morning - (7:00) - after sleeping
about 11.5 hours last night!. Guess I needed that. Spent about 2 hours
trying to get Outlook configured on Janice's computer, so I can switch
hers w/ my rendering machine. Took too long, but learned a few things
in the process.
With this computer back in my room, I'm able to work 2d animation on that,
3d animation on anther, editing on a third, and email / whatever else
on my laptop. It does help having these - right now I'm having some software
conflicts, and by having an extra computer in the room, I'm able to keep
an old version on that, and keep making progress while I try to get things
figured out on the other! I know it sounds confusing, but it makes perfect
sense to me :)
Today saw some progress on animations needed to check off the 4 sections
from Friday's critique. It's going well, and should be finished tomorrow.
Learned today of a few more ways to get a landed immigrant status - will
be looking into that more in the next few months.

Up early, needing to set up the stage at church for
sound - Jason Metcalf is leading the youth for the worship team today.
We have a practice at 8:00, service starting at 9:15. I'm also trying
to figure out what we need to do for audio for next Sunday - where we
host about 10 choir groups in a local school. We are responsible for running
the audio (and this time it's my job,) and with the equipment we have,
it makes it a difficult job!
John Cross hosted the College / Career group - but I don't usually hang
out w/ that group (too old, hey!)
But today it was Eva Boffe's birthday (she's 60...), so we went to The
Flames for lunch instead. I had seafood fettuccini alfredo. Filled up,
went home to sleep and missed choir practice (which was good, because
I was tired.)

Spent much of the day working on the krazycheck.com
web page. Put a drop shadow on the details page, which was cool to be
able to figure that out. Also spent some time on the NSBC.com site (www.nsbiblechurch.com).

Showed John Cross 5 sections of video, and 1 of those
is finished. The other 4 have minor things to fix / change / improve upon.
This includes some new animations, which will be nice to get back into
again - it's been a while! Once the fixes are done on the other 4, it'll
bring the total of finished sections to 15 (out of 51.)

Milestone: got the high-speed internet working today.
It's been up for about 3 weeks, but need some different hardware to make
it work like it should. Yahoo!

Early in the morning, I drove out to the edge of
the field and cut down some of the shrubs on the fence line. I didn't
think they were in the way at first, but once I got there, cut them down,
and took a look, I realized
that they were! It didn't help much on the internet reception, because
the biggest problem is getting to the one shed in the first place. |
