Took the Metro to the Red Square, and they were setting up for a concert. But the trip was to tour the Kremlin. It was very nice to walk around and see this! We only got into one church, but there were a few that were open. Came home after lunch and had a nap.
Had a great time around St. Petersbug today. While we didn’t get into many museums (there are over 300) we did get a real good look at what the city has to offer.
The city is like walking in a park. We had a student come up to us and ask us all kinds of questions about where we came from, and wanted everyone to know Russia is a nice place to come visit! No bears in the streets and people aren’t cold. We are really enjoying our stay.
Went out for breakfast, but everything was closed. Except for a grocery store, so we bought eggs and stuff to bring back. Lunch w/ a local friend and stayed close to home today. Jet lag isn’t too bad, which is very good!
Flew from Seattle to Moscow—took a couple days and headed to the Red Square. We arrived in Moscow around 11:00 am, took a taxi to the guest house, then for dinner, home for a quick nap, out for supper then to the Red Square. Funny thing is, there were riots there with around 200,000 people there just 2 days ago. Big parade (tanks, etc.?) the next day, but probably won’t make it.
